With an extra long history,
nuclear power plants, and its annual
Harborfest,
Oswego holds a unique place in central New York. The city however is going through the same sort of evolution found in many surrounding towns: businesses and people have moved of out of the older sections. There are some wonderful, old stone buildings with great architecture to be found there--churches, government buildings, and
private homes. Some are still being used, some unfortunately are not, and the old downtown section now has specialty stores and restaurants.
