Cooperstown is internationally known as the home of the
Baseball Hall of Fame, and everyday countless baseball fans visit it,
Doubleday Field, and the umpteen baseball collectibles shops that line Main Street. Even if you are not a baseball fan though, Cooperstown is a place worth seeing. It's the county seat of Otsego County, right on picturesque Lake Otsego. You'll find
museums,
theaters,
art galleries, wineries,
breweries, cider mills, and interesting little tourist shops in the town or close by, not to mention
bat factories (the wood kind, that is). To see everything, you hop on a
trolley, and for $3, you can ride the whole day. We particularly enjoy the many quaint, old houses in the village.
